The Financial Accountant is responsible for the General Ledger of eWave, ensuring accurate financial and tax accounting. The Financial Accountant will assist eWave with its growth ambitions, by ensuring that the accounting records and infrastructure is scalable, accurate and provides the right information in a timely manner to internal and external stakeholders.

THE ROLE

Manage and maintain the General Ledger and associated accounting system

  • Establish and Maintain a Master Chart of Accounts
  • Establish new Companies as required on Global expansion
  • Establish processes to enable Product Profitability, Departmental analysis, and Consolidation Accounting

Establish and maintain appropriate Inter-company transaction processes

  • Reconcile and identify Inter-company transactions, actioning adjustments as required
  • Establish Process for cross border Inter-company transactions that minimize tax and sovereignty risk
  • Review profitability of each entity and recommend Inter-company Margin regimes to comply with local tax laws
  • Document Inter-company Loan Agreement, including Interest rates, for execution by the Board
  • Document Directors Loan Agreement for execution by the Board

Preparing the Month End across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow

  • Prepare the Trial Balance monthly
  • Calculate and submit Accrual & Accounting adjustments to ensure compliance with IFRS standards
  • Develop and calculate Consolidation Accounting elimination workbook to ensure accurate Group reporting
  • Prepare monthly reports for each Company and Consolidated Group  including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow and Management Report
  • Prepare Fair Value Accounting workbooks to support Accruals etc
  • Develop and Prepare Fixed Asset Accounting on a monthly basis, including Depreciation postings
  • Develop and Prepare Tax Accounting calculations on monthly basis, including DTA and DTL

Prepare and Coordinate all taxation requirements

  • Manage all the monthly, quarterly, annual local statutory and tax requirements
  • Prepare & Coordinate Corporate Tax Return with external assistance
  • Work with external accountants in each international market to prepare and submit local taxation requirements

Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations

  • Reconcile on weekly basis all Bank Accounts
  • Reconcile monthly all Balance Sheet Accounts
  • Prepare monthly Reconciliation pack for Financial Controller review

THE CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar
  • Completion of Professional Qualification (CA or CPA)
  • Strong Technical competence in Financial Accounting, with demonstrated Professional Development
  • Strong Technical competence in Taxation, with demonstrated professional development
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in either a Chartered environment, Property Development, or multi-national accounting environment
  • Experienced at managing Trial Balance month end 
  • Experienced at reporting P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
  • Experienced at preparing and submitting local statutory and tax requirements
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Excel or Google sheets
  • A keen eye for detail, with demonstrated numerical and communication skills
  • Reliable and deadline orientated
