THE ROLE

The Project Accountant is responsible for the Project System and Accounting of eWave, ensuring accurate financial and project accounting. The Project Accountant will assist eWave with its growth ambitions, by ensuring that the Project Accounting records and infrastructure is scalable, accurate and provides the right information in a timely manner to the Executive & Delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create Projects and Project Financials in the Project System;
  • Assist Project Manager with understanding and managing Project Financials, including DBS allocation;
  • Run Compliance report on Timesheets entered, ensuring completion and accuracy of time assigned to each Project;
  • Run Project Utilisation Reports for Management;
  • Manage the production of the weekly Program Profitability report, highlighting issues. Prepare and provide it to Management;
  • Manage, with assistance from the PM’s, the monthly Project Forecasting process. Investigate and explain variance;
  • Establish & maintain other operational reports to support the COO, CFO and Delivery management;
  • Establish and Maintain Project Financial Policies and Procedures. Provide education to Project Managers on the Policies and Process;
  • Manage and Approve Project Discounts per Policy;
  • Perform the Subject Matter Expert role for the Project Management System (Clarizen).

THE CANDIDATE

  • You have minimum 5 years experience in either a Professional Services or Consulting Services organization in a Project Accountant or System Administrator role;
  • Bachelors degree in Commerce or similar;
  • Full working proficiency in English both written and verbal;
  • Experienced at Project Accounting, including Revenue recognition on a Time and Material basis, and Fixed Revenue basis;
  • Experienced at managing Project Management Systems, strong technical competence with demonstrated professional development on how to configure and manage Project systems (Preferably experience in Clarizen);
  • Experienced at reporting Project Profitability, Utilisation, Project Expense Management, and Revenue;
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Excel or Google sheets;
  • A keen eye for detail, with demonstrated numerical and communication skills;
  • Reliable and deadline orientated.
