The fundamental goal of the project was to make the customer’s transition through each stage of the purchase cycle as easy as possible. With UI/UX and conversion optimisation at the core of the strategy, eWave reimagined how customers experience Canon products online.

Guided Experience

The development of the product finder and recommendation engine was a significant part of the application’s conversion strategy. By mapping Canon’s product range to a matrix of interests and photography styles, the Finder quickly presents products specifically suited to the customer’s requirements.

Rentals and Ticketing

Opening up a new area of business for Canon, eWave developed functionality in the new application to facilitate product rentals and event ticketing. This service enables Canon to offer efficient photography equipment hire to visitors of Sydney’s annual Vivid festival of light.

Simplified Checkouts

Following a meticulous and data-driven analysis, Canon’s existing checkout process was identified as a stumbling block for customers. In response, eWave designed a simplified, one-page checkout that had an instant effect on conversion rates and shopping cart abandonment.

Micro Financing: Society One

Recognising that customers purchase in different ways, eWave developed an integration of the Society One micro financing platform with Magento. This provided Canon customers with the option to pay for their purchases over time, further streamlining the user experience.
